W3C, or the World Wide Web Consortium, is an international standards organization, which enforces strict adherence standards for website XHTML, CSS, XML, and other relevant website coding schemes. By adhering to these standards, websites are guaranteed maximum cross-browser compatibility, and thus are able to effectively reach the largest target audience, regardless of their browser and/or operating system.
Although the majority of internet users still use Microsoft's Internet Explorer web browser (which does not require adherence to the W3C's standards), many internet users use other web browsers, most notably Mozilla's Firefox, which rely on the W3C's standards. The success of a website relies on its ability to successfully present its information, and thus compliance to the W3C's standards ensures information can effectively reach the widest possible target audience. As such, Univox Designs prides itself on adhering to the W3C, in either "Strict" or "Transitional" standard (as dictated by a website's design and by its subsequent coding requirements), in turn ensuring your website functions correctly regardless of your audience's choice browser.
The W3C provides a Markup Validation Service, which Univox Designs utilizes to ensure your website adheres precisely to the W3C's standards. Moreover, we understand the importance of cross-browser compatibility, and therefore adhering to the W3C's standards are one method we utilize to assure maximum cross-browser compatibility. Our own webpage (the one you are currently viewing) has been validated by the service, and as indicated below, both the XHTML mark-up and the related CSS documents (style sheet) adhere to the W3C.
